What is Three Strands?
The "Cord of Three Strands" ceremony is a meaningful wedding tradition that embodies the unity of a couple with God within their marriage. Often referred to as the unity braid or God's knot, this ritual involves the couple intertwining three separate strands into a single braid, symbolizing a bond that is not easily broken.
This practice is inspired by the biblical verse from Ecclesiastes 4:12, "And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart." This verse emphasizes the strength found in Christian unity and the idea that a collaborative spirit yields greater resilience and success than individual efforts. Some couples choose to personalize this ritual by using their wedding colors or opting for three white cords to symbolize their union.

At Three Strands, our primary aim is to help couples save and reconcile their marriages through faith-based mediation. We are dedicated to providing a supportive and effective environment where couples can explore the challenges in their relationships and find durable solutions that reinforce their bonds.
